Chris Tait
Chris was the singer and guitarist with Canadian recording artists Chalk Circle. Their albums The Great Lake, Mending Wall and As the Crow Flies featured songs including “April Fool,” “This Mourning,” “Me Myself and I” and “Sons and Daughters.”
The band toured internationally, headlining shows and sharing stages with Crowded House, Tears for Fears and Rush.
After Chalk Circle, Chris wrote and performed with Big Faith alongside Ken Greer, Fergus Marsh and Michael Sloski. The group independently released Grounded and Undertow and toured across Canada and the United States.

Chalk Circle
Formed in Newcastle, Ontario in 1983, Chalk Circle began with Chris Tait on guitar and vocals, Brad Hopkins on bass and Derrick Murphy on drums. Tad Winklarz joined on keyboards and saxophone.
The band's energetic live performances and songs including “April Fool,” “This Mourning” and “Me Myself and I” found listeners across Canada. The Great Lake and Mending Wall earned gold certification in Canada.
Chalk Circle toured with Rush, Crowded House and Tears for Fears. Their final album, As the Crow Flies, arrived in 1989, the year the band performed at the Festival of Political Songs in East Berlin.
